My
name is Amanda Day, and welcome to my thoughts in text.
I am a city girl. I am not a country girl, I hate the smell of barns and the country, and I can't stand country music. I like the city, I like the lights and how you feel less lonely when you hear people, you hear cars, and you hear just the surrounding around you. I love music, I really do. I love to read and write. I guess I like a lot of different things and what I like always changes and shifts.
As a Freshman in college I am so excited for the future and what it holds. I go to Silver Lake College and stay in the dorms there. Some people ask me why did you decide to go there? I mainly decided to go to Silver Lake College, because they have a great English Program and I heard that the teachers were friendly and they thought of you as a person, not just a number in their class. My major is English and my minor is Psychology. I really want to be a writer, so that's where English major would come to play and I also want to be a counselor so that's where I would use my minor in Psychology.
Deciding to take World Lit was a random decision to be honest. The title of the class caught my attention and I thought, "Hmm, that class sounds interesting." Plus, I am a English Major, so I want to take as many English classes as I can take. I really want to look at texts, stories, or poems that I don't normally read or look at to broaden my horizon. I also think it is very important to look at other cultures and how their writing differs from American writing.
